Let patients help: the most under-used member of the care team

In April, HQC delivered the 2013 Saskatchewan Health Care Quality Summit. Of the 614 people in attendance, nearly 10%, or 59 of those people were…patients.

Having that many patients in the room changed the conversations that we had over the two-day conference. Energy was high, ideas flowed, people left feeling inspired.

So it was fitting that one of our keynote speakers, Dave deBronkart (aka e-Patient Dave), closed the Summit with his talk entitled, “Let patients help: the most under-used member of the care team.”

We didn’t think it was fair to keep it to ourselves, so if you’d like to find out why we gave him a standing ovation when he was finished, watch his keynote address. (and we’ll leave it up to you to decide whether or not to join the standing ‘O’)
